Ideas and Ways to Promote While Remote
by Sarah Izzo
The experience is often everything in promotions - and life for that matter. It is surely one of the main reasons why brick-and-mortar businesses still thrive in an increasingly online world. Why else would you go out when the need is not immediate and everything can be ordered and delivered the next day for us for the right price?
Supporting small business could be a reason (and a great one) everyone should get behind with every dollar they spend. However, people still go to the stores because they want the experience - to see it, touch it and decide to buy. It is not enough to watch a movie on your home screen, no matter how big the screen or awesome your sound system. You can pray at home, but you need the fellowship of others and the enrichment of worship. The bottom line is that clearly most of us are social and tactile creatures that crave connection and experience.
When many people are social distancing, but still have the need for the experience—how do you provide that? Like everything, it will be a different solution for every situation. For example, if you’re doing a digital event will the participants be encouraged to join the feed with video and/or audio? You might include the price of a custom vlog kit such as a pop-up stand for their phone or a tripod with lighting. You could even send them a branded backdrop to put up behind their chair so they don’t have to worry about privacy or have to use a digital background that makes them look funny.
For any event, including remote ones, you could still provide apparel that has always created that craved connection—hats, shirts, buttons, sunglasses, name badges, etc. The possibilities are there; it is just a matter of exploring them and finding the right solution to promote while remote - whether it is six feet or six hundred miles. We are here to help, let’s start the conversation.
