New Product Review: Smead Vegan Leather Desk Pad

If you’ve been looking for a desk pad that’s more upscale than the normal ones you find in stores, but that won’t break the bank, I have a solution for you. Smead has recently introduced a new product – the Vegan Leather Deskpad and it’s quite a nice item.
The pad comes in three sizes (small, medium and large) and multiple colors. Right now, we carry the Saddle color, which is a rich brown, and Charcoal, which is black. The top surface is beautiful vegan leather – very smooth – and embossed with the Smead logo in one corner. The back side of the pad is faux suede and also beautifully done. If I put this pad on your desk without telling you it was “faux” you wouldn’t know the difference. It looks and feels very luxurious.
I always like to test products myself before writing a review for you. Two of the features I look for on a desk pad are the smoothness of the surface and the quality of the construction and this pad excels in both areas. The only possible negative I found is that it comes rolled up, so it takes a little time for it to flatten out after it is removed from the box. However, having said that, it was hardly curled at all when I took it out of the box. One end was completely flat and the other was just slightly curled – so slightly that you may not notice it much (but I do because I’m the type of person that notices pretty much everything). The slight curl didn’t impede the use of the pad or cause me any issues in my evaluation. It took a couple weeks to completely flatten out but if you’re using it every day and placing items on top of it, it may flatten out faster than that. The pad stays in place nicely on my desk, with just a smidge of movement sometimes.

I really like this product. It’s well-made, stylish and very professional-looking. It will transform your desk from boring to beautiful and will provide a comfortable work surface for working at your computer. Oh, and it’s waterproof, so no worries about any spills! I give it 5 paper clips!
