Office Organization - Labeling
I've been discussing organization off and on and today I'm going to briefly touch on the topic of labeling. When I say labeling, the first thing that probably pops into your mind is file folders and there is a multitude of products on the market to assist you with labeling your file folders. You can buy labels that can be used in a typewriter or labels that go through your office printer or copier. There are white labels or colored labels, etc. We all know about those labels and you're probably not interested in reading another article about them, but just hear me out.
Most every business uses multiple types of labels - file folder labels, mailing labels, postage meter labels, etc. and you probably use a different system for each type of label. For instance, you may hand write your file folder labels because you usually only need one or two labels and it's a pain to run an entire sheet through your printer just for that. You may use that printable sheet to do mailing labels for packages though. And you use your postage meter daily and have labels for those larger envelopes or packages that can't go through the machine directly.
What if you had one machine that could do all of those types of labels and could do them quickly - regardless of whether you need one or one hundred?
Dymo has a series of label printers called LabelWriters that can help you be more efficient. They handle labels for envelopes, packages, files, name badges, barcodes, postage and more and you can create labels directly from text in Microsoft® Word, Excel®, Outlook®, QuickBooks® and other programs, without retyping. The software that comes with the printers includes a program called Address Fixer™ that will format your address labels so that they conform to USPS regulations. And because they use direct thermal printing, there is no additional cost for ink or toner.
There are 5 models in the LabelWriter series. The Twin Turbo is my favorite because it can hold two rolls of labels, so you can accomplish two tasks without having to change out the labels.
Take a look at this short video:
The DUO also holds two rolls and it is unique because it can do paper and plastic labels (similar to P-Touch labels) at the same time. The 4XL can handle larger labels, up to a 4 x 6.
There is a LabelWriter for every budget and need, with retail prices from $149.99 to $399.95 depending on the model. The Twin Turbo I've featured here today is in the middle of the price range. Of course, as our customer, you don't pay the retail price. Log in to your account to see your discounted price and choose your model. (And don't forget the labels!)
