The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international organization of volunteer Catholic women and men with more than 1 million members in 142 countries, and a mission to "seek and find the forgotten, the suffering or the deprived."  It provides people in need with food, clothing and furniture.  Our local chapter also offers an Energy Assistance Program, a dental clinic, and a summer camp for underprivileged children.

This week is International Random Acts of Kindness Week.  Each day this week, do something nice for someone else.  Pay for the meal of the person behind you in the drive-thru, give someone a compliment, shovel your neighbor's sidewalk if it snows, water your neighbor's flowers if you live in a warm area, park your car a little further away from the store to leave that close space for someone who may have difficulty walking long distances, or give a donation to a charity.

Did you know that January 27 is National Chocolate Cake Day?  And did you know that chocolate really is good for you?  Seriously - we read one study that says chocolate is good for your heart and then next week another one comes out that says the first study was wrong....yada..yada..yada.  But here is an irrefutable fact:
