Food Trivia
The first recipe for me appeared in Mary Randolph's Virginia House-Wife cookbook in 1824. I was declared an unessential food at the outset of World War II and production of me was completely halted for a time. It was only after a manufacturer's protest that the War Production Board reversed its decision and production was resumed.

Here's another interesting tidbit - Mary Randolph is the first person ever buried on the grounds that would become Arlington National Cemetery.
