Trivia Contest - Win a Prize!

My favorite beverage when I was a kid was Coca-Cola.  I liked others too - Vernors, Faygo Red Pop, A & W Root Beer - but Coke was #1.  (Don't get me started on that whole new formula disaster.)  I recently received this question from one of my readers and thought it would be a good one, so here goes. The topic today is:

Coca-Cola Trivia

In 1915, the Coca-Cola Company and bottlers asked glass manufacturers to come up with ideas for a distinctive bottle that wouldn't be easily confused with imitators.  The design of the contour bottle won enthusiastic approval and was introduced in 1916.  It became one of the few packages ever granted trademark status by the U.S. Patent Office and remains one of the most recognized icons in the world.

Name the company that designed the contour bottle and the city the company was located in.

Email your answer to wizard@oexusa.com by the end of the day Tues, Oct. 9 for a chance to win:

A 24oz jug of animal crackers!

Good Luck!

Last question:  Fred Meijer, son of Hendrik Meijer, the founder of the Meijer grocery chain, put it in his will that one thing in his stores could never cost more than one penny.  What is that item?

Answer:  A ride on Sandy, the mechanical horse (at the front of the store).

Thanks for playing!  Special thanks to Andrew Wiest of Detroit Hoist & Crane for submitting today's question.   Be sure to check out our other blog posts for interesting topics and helpful hints!
