Tax Prep - Are You Ready?
We're less than a month away from the dreaded Tax Day - April 15. If you (or your company) haven't already filed your taxes, you're probably in the process of gathering all the necessary documents and organizing them, which is a process many people dread. I've got a few items that can not only help you get organized for that appointment, but will help you stay organized afterward.
The first item I'd like to show you is the Pendaflex Divide It Up Multi Section Folders. These folders are very handy - I have a few at my desk. There are three interior pockets that allow you to subdivide the contents within the folder, or carry multiple files in the same folder and the main compartment serves as the fourth section. Each section has its own tab, which makes it super easy to find and access your documents quickly.
The next item to aid you in your task is the Smead SuperTab Notes File Folder. These folders are great for taking to the accountant because they have lined note space on the outside - you can jot down all the questions you want to ask the accountant, or things you need to point out or discuss. Of course, there are many uses for them in the office for day-to-day functions also - don't just save them for tax time! Use them for meetings, to do lists, etc. They come in an assorted pack - aqua, goldenrod, pink and yellow - and we all know how helpful color coding is in filing.
Last is an item designed to help you with long-term preservation of important documents. The SJ Paper Archival File Folders are made of an 11 pt. manila stock that is acid free and lignin free and will remain chemically stable for 50 years or more. They have an antimicrobial coating that resists the formation of mold and mildew and reduces associated odors. They're perfect for storing important company documents and, of course, your tax information! They come with fasteners or without and are available in letter or legal size (legal is only available with fasteners).
