As I’m sure you all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  This is a topic that has a significant personal connection to me and I urge all of you to support as many of the fundraisers as you are able.  Breast cancer has such a huge presence in our lives that I’m sure most all of you know someone who has been affected by this horrible disease.  According to the American Cancer Society, a woman living in the U.S. has a 1 in 8 lifetime risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer.

What is Ergonomics?  Ergonomics can be defined as the “science of fitting the task to the worker…”  The average office worker sits approximately 10 hours per day.  Sitting for a prolonged period of time, generally more than 2 hours at a time, can cause a myriad of issues in our bodies.

I can’t believe I’ve been writing the OEX blog for five years! Five! We started in September 2014 with the hope that the articles would be informative, helpful, interesting and fun for our readers. The Wizard of OEX was created as our online persona and I’ve had a blast writing from “behind the curtain.” I’ve shared my thoughts on a variety of topics and have given you product reviews, how-to-guides and some just plain goofy stuff.

How did I do?

Every business needs to mail larger envelopes and packages - some of us more frequently than others - and it can be frustrating and annoying when you don’t have the right size box or padded mailer for the item you need to send.

3M has introduced a new product that it says eliminates the need for boxes, styrofoam/padding, tape and envelopes. It’s called Flex and Seal Shipping Roll and it’s composed of three layers - an outer waterproof layer, a middle bubble layer and the inside adhesive layer.

I’m not a huge fan of reality TV, which seems to be in conflict with most of the rest of America. I used to watch a few reality shows, but I’m tired of it. It’s run it’s course and I’m ready to say goodbye. Except for one show - The Masked Singer.

I LOVE this show! It’s such a different twist from the rest of the reality music shows like American Idol, The Voice and X-Factor. I watched the first show and was hooked - I can’t wait for next season! Today I want to see how many of you share my enthusiasm. So…..our topic today is:

June is National Safety Month. There are oodles of ways to keep employees safe at work - which ones come to mind first for you? Probably fire extinguishers, wet floor signs and safety goggles. Excellent choices! But I’d like you to think a little ….. simpler.

Do you like to watch Jeopardy? How about Wheel of Fortune? They both use a particular category in their assortment of puzzles and I thought I’d do a question in that category today, but I’m not going to do it the same way they do. Curious? Cool!
